Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges
Youth Exchanges are short-term experiences for groups of youngsters from at least two different countries that gather together to work on a topic of their interest, related to the EU priorities and Youth Goals, i.e., social inclusion, sustainability, promotion of health and physical and mental well-being, etc (each exchange has a theme that will be developed during the mobility). Within a non-formal education-based programme, a maximum of 60 participants take part in interactive workshops, debates, role-plays, creative artworks or outdoor activities, cooperating with international and multicultural teams.

To participate in this exchange programme you must be aged 13-30 and residing in the countries of their sending and receiving organisations, at least 2 different EU Member States, Third Countries associated with the Programme and/or Partner Countries neighbouring the EU.

No specific level of a foreign language is mandatory, but a conversational level of English is recommended, since all activities will be conducted in English.

On average, the project’s duration is about one or two weeks.

The fields of this program are related to the Erasmus+ Programme priorities.
Funding
For Youth Exchanges, the Erasmus+ grant supports practical (accommodation and meals) and activity-related costs, as well as travel reimbursement for each participant*. Organisational support is also provided. Inclusion and exceptional costs, i.e Support for fewer opportunities’ participants, visa-related costs, residence permits, vaccinations or medical certifications are considered, too.
Participation in this mobility opportunity is free of charge, but be aware that some hosting organisations could ask for an extra fee in order to cover administrative and further costs.
Your travel grant will be calculated based on the distance between the place of origin and the venue. Green travel is strongly recommended, and it is subject to an additional reimbursement margin. To estimate it, you can use the Erasmus+ distance calculator and check the amount granted for the applicable travel distance band (i.e. between 500 and 1999 km) in the “Funding Rules” section of the Erasmus+ Programme Guide. However, your final travel grant will also depend on other various factors, including administrative costs incurred by participating organisations and National Agencies.
