My trip from Budapest to Paris didn’t exactly go as planned, but I have no regrets. Even if my Flixbus was delayed, even if my legs felt numb after 21 hours on the bus, even if it took me way too long to find a comfortable sleeping position, I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything.

Thanks to slow travel, I had plenty of time to think about the journey I was starting. It allowed me to fully comprehend the distance between my home and this exciting beginning of an entirely new chapter in my life. Flixbus is not for the faint of heart, I admit. But flying just doesn’t make you feel the Erasmus spirit right away. Taking the bus or the train teaches you that even if things don’t go according to your expectations, you WILL find a solution. Because you can, in fact, do anything you put your mind to. I realised this on the bus, and I’m reminded every day as I spend my time in Paris, stepping out of my comfort zone again and again.

I mean, I started my biggest adventure yet by embarking on another adventure… isn’t that beautiful? :)
