Hello everyone, I'm Graham, an American engineering student who studied abroad in the amazing city of Torino, Italy, for a semester.
I had always thought about studying abroad since my first year of university, but I was never fully sure that I would actually go through with it.
In the end, I am so thankful that I did. I had many amazing experiences and met people from all different nationalities, primarily through the ESN organisation, which I had never heard of until arriving in Europe. I heard about ESN the day of orientation at Polito, shortly after I arrived in Torino. Not long after registration, I went to the ESN office to obtain my card. That day marked the beginning of a profoundly impactful positive change in my life.
I travelled throughout Italy, primarily through trips organised by ESN, and thoroughly enjoyed the many things it had to offer, whether it was the amazing food, architecture, or warm people. Opening my window each day felt like being in a scene from a movie, and living within walking distance from the historical city center was the icing on the cake. I would highly recommend considering a study abroad program, such as the Erasmus program, if at all possible.
