My Erasmus experience was in Bologna, Italy. I completed it after completing my degree in primary education teaching, specialising in physical Education, and completing a master's degree in Spain. I was able to do so thanks to the Erasmus Internship program and spent 7 months at the Istituto Comprensivo 21 Bologna as a Spanish language assistant, supporting the Spanish teacher at a public school.

The experience was incredible for many reasons. First, the teacher has over 10 years of experience with language assistants from all over Spain, and she is a very friendly and attentive person from whom you will learn every day. Second, the students and teaching staff are excellent, with whom we conducted several CLIL (content and language integrated learning) sessions where, using Spanish as the teaching language, we delved deeper into Spanish culture in different areas such as physical Education, geography, history, art, and more. Furthermore, you will learn and experience the unique characteristics of the Italian education system and how they approach inclusive education. Third, the school is located in the Giardino Lunetta Gamberini, a privileged setting.

Last but not least, the city centre's schedule will allow you to enjoy the city as well. Bologna has a lot of charm. A clear example is the San Michele in Bosco viewpoint. To learn more about its culture, the "Succede solo a Bologna" association or the Galliera cinema will be your allies. This city boasts natural spaces (Giardini Margherita, Colli Bolognesi, Ciclovia del Sole), and also gives you the opportunity to meet many international students through organisations such as Erasmus Student Network Bologna (ESN Bologna). And what about Italian culture? You'll fall in love with its cuisine (Mercato Ritrovato), its music, and its language... You couldn't ask for more.

In short, a new city creates new opportunities to get to know yourself, meet other people, and immerse yourself in the local culture and traditions.
