I landed in Estonia and I visited Tallinn the capital. I was expecting something more snowy to be honest! Then I took a bus to Tartu, and there it was: completely white, covered in snow. It was love at first sight.
Thanks to ESN, I joined the first events and quickly met new people, some of whom I still carry in my heart today. We became a fantastic group, sharing so many moments together in the dormitory: from dinners to breakfasts. Our WhatsApp group was even named after that!
Once I got to know the city, I looked for a basketball team to train with. I found the university gym perfect for staying active. I suggest you to check it out and go see the basketball matches the vibes are so nice. Classes in university were always interesting, and the professors were incredibly friendly and approachable, a first time for me!
On the weekends, I travelled all around Estonia, the Baltics, and even the Nordic countries. It was truly a dream come true. Always trying to catch the northern lights!
I know it might seem scary at first, but you’ll find yourself in a digital, efficient country with great hospitals (I’m a med student), reliable public transport, and top-notch services. And the town square, with its ice-skating rink, is one of the most magical places I’ve ever seen.
Aitäh, Estonia!
Don’t miss out, Erasmus is waiting for you.

Double bedrooms and small houses are not my thing, but please give a try to the student dormitory (Raatuse). The vibes are so nice and still to this day is the happiest place I know!
